Cotton absorbs sweat and might make you cold and clammy. A wicking fabric shirt will remove moisture from your skin while acting as a base layer. Technical wicking fabric long-sleeved shirts could be ideal for winter walking.
Your cold-weather walking pants should also be constructed of moisture-wicking polyester. Running tights or loose-fitting running pants are good. For added convenience, search for models featuring zip pockets and an elastic waistband. Pants with elastic around the ankle will help keep cold air out.
